Transactions Not Persisted to the Database When Head Element in Queue Experiences 'java.io.UTFDataFormatException' Error

In Oracle Retail Point of Service (ORPOS) , the head element in the transaction queue is getting corrupted frequently with below exception (java.io.UTFDataFormatException) in the log. As a result, further transactions get stuck and the remaining queue is not processed.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Perform some transactions in POS.
2. Check the exception queue to find the following error. Note that the transactions are stuck in the queue.
