When Using Hosted Domains and Only Local Part Is Given On To Line, Default Domain Is Added To E-mail Address
(Doc ID 1603850.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 26, 2019
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 2.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
On Convergence 2, patch-06.
When a user who is not in the default domain composes a new mail and on the To line only enters the local part of an email address provided (ie, email address without '@<domain>'), they get the following pop-up:
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
- Log in to Convergence, as a user NOT belonging to the default domain
- Start composing a new mail
- Put on the To line the local part of a user which you know belongs to your messaging domain
- Put something as Subject and in the body
- Attempt to send the mail
As a result, a pop-up will be shown stating the above error.
This means users cannot send mail by only supplying the local part. They have to supply the full email addresses.
This was different with Comms Express 6.3, where the domain you belong to was automatically added to the address on the To field.
