Last updated on MARCH 28, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Using a script which runs multiple rehostuser commands in parallel to move users to new system running a more recent version of Messaging Server, a rehostuser command will occasionally hangs waiting for a password from STDIN, which hangs the script driving the moves.

To get it to continue, the admin must fg and Ctrl/C.

That results in "interrupt signal delayed while performing critical operations" and a message like the following in the default log file on the source system:

[29/Aug/2013:04:12:20 -0400] imsbackup[11936]: Store Error: Error writing block: Broken pipe

and the user which it was trying to move must be retried later.
