RDF Documentation Issue: Clarification of Retail Demand Forecasting Promotional Variable Types

(Doc ID 1606493.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 17, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting - Version 13.4.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The documents referenced below can be found in the Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting Documentation Library on the Oracle Technology Network.

In the Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting (RDF) User Guide v13.4.1, in the "Promote (Promotional Forecasting)" chapter, where Promotion Variable Types are described, the document states that there are three promotional variable types:

"Promotion Variables are defined as either Boolean (by default) or Real or nonlinear types during the configuration process in the Promote Plug-In.
Refer to the Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting Configuration Guide for additional details on configuring the Promote solution."

However, the RDF Configuration Guide up to version 13.4.1 makes no reference to a third promo variable type "nonlinear":  only Boolean (default) and Real.   This is because the document is incorrect.
