Add or Get Attachments in Agile 9.3.3 Hangs or Fails, File Upload Manager Shows "error" or "not completed"

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When using Agile 9.3.3 and trying to use "Add" or "Get" on an attachments it will fail and hang making impossible to perform the operation. The file upload manager shows the following error:
"Error" or "not completed"
Steps to reproduce:
1. Log into Java Client as Agile administrator
2. Edit the server settings for Web client url to match the one the user uses to log into the web client.
3. Users use the Proxy server to login to the Web client, while the Java Client server settings are used with the direct url to the application server.
Proxy url used to login to webclient by users: http://<PROXYSERVERNAME>:<PORT>/Agile/PLMservlet
Direct url in the server configuration settings: http://<APPLICATIONSERVERNAME>:<PORT>/Agile/PLMservlet
