High Imapd Thread Counts (Doc ID 1615006.1)

Symptoms

On Oracle Communications Messaging Server 7u4-27.08(7.0.4.27.7) 64bit (built Aug 22 2013):

We are seeing high IMAPd thread counts and we are concerned with potential db locks/hangs.

This is the stack trace from the imap process that reportedly appeared hung, or at least had a high thread count:

  

We see that the user appended a message to a folder and the thread is waiting to notify JMQ of the action. The other 2,000+ threads are waiting on this, for the same user.
