Symptoms

The issue described in this document is known to Oracle, and a fix already scheduled for future release.
This article will be updated as official patch information becomes available.

In Oracle Retail Invoice Matching (ReIM) 12.0.12, the ReimEDIInvUpload batch aborts with an error when the uploaded EDI file is empty and contains no invoices.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Run the Retail Merchandising System (RMS) process edidlinv with no invoices to process.  It creates the file edidlinv.out_1 with format similar to the following (i.e., no THEAD/TDETL):

   FHEAD0000000001UPINV20130409000000
   FTAIL00000000020000000000

2. Run the ReimEDIInvUpload process to upload the file in ReIM. The log gives the following error:

"log4j:ERROR Either File or DatePattern options are not set for appender [BATCHFILE].
2013-12-06 07:21:13,648 ERROR [main] com.retek.reim.batch.ediupinv.EdiFileTail - Error: EDIUpload: Expected record descriptor [FTAIL], encountered [FTAIL]. Line: 2 "
