Deleting a Very Large Folder with mboxutil -d Takes a Very Long Time (Doc ID 1627012.1)

Symptoms

Customer started to delete a folder in a user's mailbox. Nearly 24 hours later, the process was still running, and Ctrl/C would not stop it:

# mboxutil -l -p user/<userid>/\*
  msgs  Kbytes last msg         partition   quotaroot mailbox
   .
   .
812649 1266477 2014/02/11 11:11 primary             - user/<userid>/folder with many messages
...

# mboxutil -d -p "user/<userid>/folder with many messages"
delete user/<userid>/folder with many messages

Changes

The folder receives a lot of mail, builds up quickly, and needs to be deleted occasionally.
