How To Configure UNC Paths In Argus Interchange? (Doc ID 1629798.1)

Last updated on JULY 13, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Life Sciences Argus Interchange - Version 6.0.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

We need to understand how to configure UNC paths in Argus Interchange for the systems directories of an Agency in the EsmService.ini file. What we are trying to achieve is setting the XML Incoming folder to a UNC path, e.g. "\\machine\devxml".

Restarting the ESM service logs the following error message:
"10-Jan-2014 7:55:06 AM: >> ESM Service Stopped."
"10-Jan-2014 7:55:09 AM: >> ESM Service Started."
"10-Jan-2014 7:55:19 AM: Directory Path \\machine\devxml does not exists as specified in ESMService.ini file for key = XML_INCOMING_FOLDER and section [AGENCY_ARGUS_XXXXXX]"

The UNC path is on an EMC NAS share. We were able to access it using the esm_admin and argus_admin domain accounts.
