Editing Configuration XML in JAR Files is Susceptible to Being Overwritten During Patch / Upgrade (Doc ID 1641520.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 24, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper - Version 5.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Currently to be able to modify the expiry age of an MO parlayx message it is necessary to update the value of expiry_age in " <expiry expiry_age="604800"/> "
in the following xml file "wlng-cachestore-config-extensions.xml" and re-package the jar file "com.bea.wlcp.wlng.plugin.sms.px21.smpp.store_4.1.1.0.jar".

This does work but the problem with doing so is that future patches or upgrades are likely to replace the JAR file resulting in the loss of the expiry-time configuration, which could be a risk during the upgrades.
