Causal Forecasting Execution in RDF 14.0.0.1 Is Slow (Doc ID 1641584.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 17, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting - Version 14.0 to 14.0.1 [Release 14.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrading Retail Predictive Application Server (RPAS) and Retail Demand Forecasting (RDF) to version 14.0.0.1, Causal Forecasting execution time became extremely high.  For a local domain for which the process usually takes around 3-5 minutes to complete, the time rose to approximately 6.5 hours.

Sample Steps to Recreate:

1. Using the Classic Client, open Forecast Administration - Level 2 and delete the External Baseline measure (if it is there).
2. Run the Level 2 forecast using the "Run Batch Forecast" RDF standard workbook.  It should generate a forecast within a few minutes (3-5).
3. Using the Classic Client, open Forecast Administration - Level 2 and add the External Baseline measure "ExtBsLine".
4. Run the Level 2 forecast using the Run Batch Forecast RDF workbook.  It should generate a forecast after several hours.

Note:  In version 13.4.5, Causal Forecast with external baseline (step 4) was running in 3-5 minutes for the same domain.
