FutureCost Engine in RMS 13.1 Lacks Restart/Recovery Mechanism

(Doc ID 1644094.1)

Last updated on APRIL 24, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 13.1.6 to 13.1.9 [Release 13.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The Future Cost Engine (FCEXEC) batch in Retail Merchandising System (RMS) 13.1.x lacks a sufficient restart/recovery mechanism.  In case of failure, errors are only reported to the COST_EVENT_RESULT table, and the batch itself completes successfully without any error noted in the error log.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Execute FCEXEC batch with multiple threads.  Ensure that at least one cost event process ID should fail.
  2. Note that all threads of the batch complete successfully, even though one thread fails to process all of its assigned cost event process IDs.
  3. Note that the result is only reported to the COST_EVENT_RESULT table.
