ECC Plan Delaying Sales Orders By Creating Huge Qty Planned Order For Intermediate (Doc ID 1644264.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 09, 2016

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Constrained planning

We have 3 Sales Order for ZAUFS00079

14th April 1800 (Priority 3)

23rd April 3600 (Priority 20)

24th April, 2014 (Priority 23)

Priority 3 is higher

The immediate intermediate is ZAUIM00047 and because of material constraints earlier in the supply chain the earliest date a planned order for this intermediate can start is 22-APR (effectively already late for all three sales orders). This is fine. The problem is that the planned order for this intermediate aggregates the demand into a very large quantity and therefore a much longer lead time. As a consequence the sales order for the priority 3 and date of 14-APR is much later than it needs to be

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Run the ASCP Standard Collection, complete refresh and ECC Plan with demand priority checked for this OPM integrated environment (though this integration point does not seem to be related to the cause of the problem)
