SIM Data Seeding - Package Size Missing (Doc ID 1645175.1)

Last updated on MARCH 07, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management - Version 13.1.6 to 13.1.9 [Release 13.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Item package size attribute (AS_ITM.PACKAGE_SIZE) is not being extracted/loaded from Retail Merchandising System (RMS) (ITEM_MASTER.PACKAGE_SIZE) during the SIM data seeding process.  However, RMS package size info is being sent to SIM through Retail Integration Bus (RIB) if any item update is done in RMS.   Also, package unit-of-measure (UOM) (AS_ITM.PACKAGE_UOM) is being seeded from RMS (ITEM_MASTER.PACKAGE_UOM).  This process should be aligned with the SIM-RMS integration flow.

Steps to Recreate:

  1. Perform SIM seeding process (SIM seeding scripts from 13.1.x version).
  2. Notice that AS_ITM.PACKAGE_SIZE is not populated.
  3. Perform an item update in RMS (e.g., description change).
  4. AS_ITM.PACKAGE_SIZE is updated with RMS item's package size (ITEM_MASTER.PACKAGE_SIZE).
