How to Configure an IM Collection in System Manager so that the right context is used by Both Regular iConnect and Infocenter? (Doc ID 1667487.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 12, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Knowledge - Version 8.5.1 to 8.5.1 [Release 8.5]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Different applications require a different url.  If infocenter instances are used for parts of the application and iconnect instances are used for other parts a different build url needs to be constructed dynamically based on which application the request is coming from.

To configure an IM collection in System Manager so that it can be searchable in search runtime by both iConnect and Infocenter from the same search runtimes an IM collection can be configured to accept the application context as part of the build url.

InfoManager also has its own instance context as of 8.6.1 configured in the Repository tab of InfoManager console.  Chose system configure, Search configuration and update the Instance Context for IM Console.

If there is only one application url you can eliminate the {instanceContext} from system manager and just use your application context like infocenter.
