Unexpected Receipts in RMS Are Distributed to a Restricted Warehouse (Doc ID 1668008.1)

Last updated on MARCH 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 13.2.6 to 13.2.8 [Release 13.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS), when an unexpected item is received that does not exist on a purchase order (PO) and does not have a relationship with any location, it is assigned to a random physical warehouse.  This occurs even though the RESTRICTED_IND is set to 'Y'.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Locate a physical warehouse (physical_wh) whose primary virtual warehouse (vwh) has the restricted indicator set  to ’Y’.
  2. Create a PO containing ITEM1 for any other vwh.
  3. Also receive ITEM2 (an unexpected item) against the above PO for the physical wh.  Ensure that no location is ranged to ITEM2.
  4. Note that ITEM2 inventory is updated for the primary vwh, which had the RESTRICTED_IND set to ’Y’.
