How To Get RQL Results From Beyond The Current Site Context (Doc ID 1674594.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 23, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Merchandising - Version 10.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

You may want some application code to search in the ProductCatalog repository for a SKU which is not in the current site's catalog. The RQL resultset is always null, beause the Oracle ATG product code is appending an implicit site condition to the query. This behavior is referenced in the product documentation:

Multi-Site Administration Guide > Multisite Overview > Creating Multisite Applications > Coding a Multisite Application > Sharing Resources > Site-Specific Repository Data (Site Membership)

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E52191_01/Platform.11-1/ATGMultisiteAdminGuide/html/s0304sharingresources01.html

Does Oracle ATG offer a way to bypass this site-specific filtering? The intention is to bypass it only for some RQL queries and not for the entire application.
