Goal

**Examples provided in this article do not represent real life personal/confidential information**

**Disclaimer:** This KM article may include the following abbreviations:

MDM - Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management
TPW - Threadpoolworker
JVM - Java Virtual Machine

I've seen in the batch best practices guide that we should have a dedicated TPW to manage the coherence cache. It wasn't clear though if an entire server (physical machine) has to be dedicated to running a TPW that runs no batch jobs.

I didn't see where tangosol.coherence.role could be specified per TPW so that a server could have a a "NORUN" TPW with a role of WKACache_SplwgBaseApiTPW, a "DEFAULT" and "LITE" TPW each with the default SplwgBaseApiThreadPoolWorker roles.
