Event Code 9C62AA77 When Running Update Baseline And Claim Digger (Schedule Comparison) Fails With 'Invalid Username or Password' When Configured For LDAP SSL

When attempting to run the internal plugin applications, the following error occurs:
Updating a baseline fails with the Event Code 9C62AA77
User gets a login prompt when trying to run Claim Digger/Schedule Comparison; after reentering login it fails with 'Invalid username/password'
In both cases, the following error is logged to the P6WebAccess.html log file for the internal plugins (default location = $RootOfUserProfile\PrimaveraLogs):
ERROR com.primavera.infr.ldap.LDAPServiceImpl - While trying to ping LDAP server failed to get initial directory context URL=ldaps://<LDAP server name>:3269 Security=ssl AuthenticationMode= Chase Referrals=0 User Key=samaccountname
javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException: <LDAP server name>:3269; socket closed
