JSON Formatting Issue In ISS Response

(Doc ID 1681246.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 06, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Indexing and Search Service - Version 1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ISS 1u5 p19

When a search result from ISS includes a line like in the example below, then the resulting JSON is invalid.

The message in question contained a strangely formatted full name portion in the 'From' address.
In this case ISS should either strip out the leading whitespace or properly encode it as “\r\n …”.

For reference, here’s the leading part of the From line:

For sake of clarity, this is:

From:<space>"<CR><LF><space>=?utf-8?B?dGhpcyBpcyBzb21lIHRleHQgw6HDqSwgw63Dsw=?="

Testing shows the Messaging Server's MTA rewrites such a folded line, but this kind of message could be added by eg. using an IMAP APPEND command.
