The Markdowns Taken Standard Interface (MDTAKEN) allows markdowns to be added and updated in Oracle Retail Markdown Optimization (MDO) / Oracle Retail Clearance Optmization Engine (COE).  MDO/COE uses the markdown information for the purpose of applying business rules such as Max # Markdowns, Min/Max % First, and Min/Max % Subsequent. Additionally, when the markdown is in the future, MDO/COE will use the markdown price as the future retail price.  Once the markdown is in the past, the retail price comes from the weekly SALES feed, and the MDTAKEN records determine business rules. Therefore, an accurate MDTAKEN is desired for forecasting and optimization.

However, how would a markdown be removed? The scenario occurs when users take markdowns which are fed into MDO/COE, but, subsequently, the markdown is reverted in the customer system.
