Goal

This document describes a functionality change and resolutions to problems associated with the Rule and/or Delay Tasks.

Here is an observation and associated question on the rule / delay tasks: How does OSM 7.2.X work whether rule tasks are triggered by om_job_pkg.invoke_rule_engine or not. Is the DB job necessary or not in OSM 7.2.0 and above?

The observations when querying an OSM 7.2.2 system:

Why is it that on 7.2.x there is no om_job_pkg.invoke_rule_engine job and the rule tasks work fine?

 

Additionally, this document by virtue of the fact that it describes a key change, it also provides instructions on dealing with common problems with rule / delay tasks. For example, if there are problems with the timer delay not triggering notifications.
