Applies to:

Oracle Health Sciences Central Designer - Version 1.4.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Error "The signature is not trusted" during validation.

Central Designer documentation was followed correctly:

Installed a certificate for signing web service authorizations

On each Central Designer application server, an administrator must install the certificate that is used for signing web service authorizations to the LOCAL_MACHINE\MY store directory and make it usable by the user who runs the ASP.NET worker process (by default, the NETWORK_SERVICE user).

You must also grant this user Full Control rights to the private key for the certificate.
On Windows 2003 for example you could do this by running a command like

CMD> winhttpcertcfg -g -c LOCAL_MACHINE\My -s "SMS" -a "NETWORK SERVICE"
Microsoft (R) WinHTTP Certificate Configuration Tool

Matching certificate:
CN=<name of CD Server>

Granting private key access for account:

 On the Central Designer host machine, there is a “Server Authentication” certificate issued to the local computer. The NETWORK_SERVICE account which already had full access to the private keys.
