Goal

In Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) 13.2.x, when creating a new purchase order (PO) through the user interface, it is observed that the order_no generated demonstrates a large gap compared to the previously generated order number.  The sample order number definition for our system is shown below:


How can we ensure that we do not see such large gaps in the order number sequence and thus lose many numbers?
