After configuring the email statusing service, when attempting to test the statusing service sending a ping email, the "send mail" (SMTP configuration) generates the following error:

TIMESTAMP ERROR --> Error while trying to send message: No authentication mechanisms supported by both server and client
javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: No authentication mechansimssupported by both server and client
 at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.authenticate(
 at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.protocolConnect(
 at javax.mail.Service.connect(
 at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
 at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source)
 at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source)

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Configure the Email Statusing Service per the documentation.
  2. Run the email statusing service by launching the run (.sh / .bat).
  3. Send an email to the email address configured in the email statusing service with the subject "ping".
  4. Once the statusing service processes the email, note the error which occurs when attempting to send the email in the statusing service log file.
