Will davadmin db restore Overwrite Any Existing Data, When Restoring From an Older Full Backup? (Doc ID 1919690.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 07, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Calendar Server - Version 7.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

We are using Calendar Server 7u2.

Currently, we do a full backup every night, using the davadmin db backup... command.

Recently, we've found that there was an on-going error in our backups, which in turn, caused us to not be able to restore from these full backups. But, we've found a good full backup file, that was performed about a week ago, prior to the problem backups.

Here is our question: If we use the restore from the old backup file, will it impact the existing events? For example, If I'm restoring my calendar from the last week's backup, would any of the recent updates to my calendar that have been made in the past week, be removed during the restore?
