In Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS), why does the sequence for creating new orders not take into consideration the canceled order numbers that were never committed to the database?
When creating a new order and after entering some data, if the user clicks the 'Cancel' button instead of clicking 'OK', that sequence number is wasted. The next time the user opens the new order form, the next incremented value is displayed in the 'order no.' field, though the previous sequence was not committed to the database.
