How do I disable the collection of telemetry data (Doc ID 1921627.1)

Goal

If I create a telemetry directory such as:

(/messaging/data/telemetry/imap/[uid]).

it will enable telemetry IMAP data for that user. How do I then stop telemetry data collection? Do I just remove the directory?
