Calendar 7: How To Modify and/or Delete a Problem Event (Doc ID 1926394.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 14, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Calendar Server - Version 7.0.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

A user has an event that is causing Lightning 3.3 to become unresponsive.  We also are unable to see the event in Convergence.

We believe that a particular line with duplicate X-RECEIVED-* parameters in the event is causing the problem.

Ex:

ATTENDEE;CN=<SURNAME> <NAME>;PARTSTAT=ACCEPTED;ROLE=REQ-PARTICIPANT;RSVP=TR
 UE;X-RECEIVED-DTSTAMP=20141016T183321Z;X-RECEIVED-DTSTAMP=20141016T18332
 1Z;X-RECEIVED-SEQUENCE=0;X-RECEIVED-SEQUENCE=0:mailto:user@example.com
X-MOZ-GENERATION:1

Note that the cause of Lightning becoming unresponsive is due to a known Mozilla bug 875739 - Freeze (hang) on .ics file which has two CN (common name) parameters or duplicated X-params set on the ATTENDEE/ORGANIZER property
The clue that the event is created via lightning (or Sunbird) is the "X-MOZ-GENERATION" line in the event.
Since this is not code that is generated by OCUCS Calendar, the issue needs to be addressed with Mozilla via their bug.

To work around this Lightning bug, How can we modify the event to remove the offending line, and/or delete the event?
