Symptoms
On Oracle Communications Converged Applications Server (OCCAS), when running SIP load against the server, depending on the underlying Operating System configuration, it is possible to hit at some point a tooManyOpenFilesException.
If this issue happens, to determine if the root cause is indeed too many ports in use, determine if the file descriptors used are indeed UDP ports, by running a command such as the following one (example below is for the Linux/Unix OS) :
