E-Acute Character Not Displayed Properly In Convergence (Doc ID 1929569.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 30, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using:  Convergence 2-4.01.

Within our Directory Server data, we have a user who has a "giveName" attribute set to the following:

givenName=Jean-S\351bastien

This user is running into an issue where their email display name is not showing properly. When they send email, their display name shows as Jean-Sbastien instead of Jean-Sébastien.  Also, when searching for this user via the Corporate Directory, the user is listed as Jean-Sbastien.

A snippet of the user's LDIF shows the following when the -B (print non-ASCII values and use old output format (attr=value)) option is used with ldapsearch:

givenName=Jean-Sébastien

When the -B option is not used with ldapsearch, the entry snippet looks like this:

givenName:: SmVhbi1T6WJhc3RpZW4=
