Does Messaging Server Need to Be Re-Installed After Upgrading to Red Hat Linux?

(Doc ID 1932904.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 15, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Does Messaging Server need to be re-installed after upgrading from Red Hat 5.8 to 5.10 or 6?

For example, a bug in Red Hat 5.8 was encountered which causes DNS queries to take exceedingly long and ultimately returns NXDOMAIN response, leading to email delivery failing when it should not. If the operating system is upgraded to address this, does the Messaging Server need to be re-installed?
