Doc ID 1494565.1, section "Improvements in Messaging Server 7.0.5" discusses how the user's \Seen and \Delete flags are now stored in the store.idx file instead of the per-user database. See Significant Changes in the Message Store Between Versions.

This changes the problem informally known as pre-deleted syndrome.

The same problem can happen with the \Seen flag, but messages being marked Deleted is the most noticeable problem.
