Stock Order Status (SOStatus) Does Not Create Entry in TRAN_DATA/INV_STATUS_QTY

Information in this document applies to any platform.

When item quantities of a warehouse-to-warehouse (WH-WH) transfer created on unavailable inventory stock is cancelled through NI type stock order status (SOStatus) message, Retail Merchandising System (RMS) does not create any entries in the TRAN_DATA table (tran_code 25) and does not update the INV_STATUS_QTY table with the cancelled quantity.

This happens when a transfer is created on unavailable inventory (ITEM_LOC_SOH.NON_SELLABLE_QTY) of item location and the transfer creation process moves the inventory from non_sellable_qty to reserved of sending location and expected of receiving location, and then for some reason the distribution center (DC) is not able to fulfill transfer of the line item.  In this case the DC sends a SOStatus message with document type 'D' and status NI, with the quantity of the item that could not be fulfilled.

When the SOStatus message is processed by RMS, then reserved_qty/expected_qty in ITEM_LOC_SOH gets decremented by the units in the SOStatus message and the TSFDETAIL table gets updated with the cancelled quantity.   However, the cancelled quantity is not updated back to the non-sellable bucket of the sending location.   Also, the corresponding cancellation of transfer quantity should have ideally made entries into TRAN_DATA table with tran_code of 25 and INV_STATUS_QTY table with unavailable inventory status.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create transfer in RMS through XTSF RIB interface. The transfer should be a WH-WH transfer and it should be created on unavailable inventory bucket.
  2. Take snapshot of corresponding records in TSFHEAD, TSFDETAIL, ITEM_LOC_SOH, INV_STATUS_QTY and TRAN_DATA tables.
  3. Post SOStatus message on the transfer item with quantity less that the transfer item quantity. The specification of SOStatus should be Document Type = D, Status = NI.
  4. Take snapshot of corresponding records in TSFHEAD, TSFDETAIL, ITEM_LOC_SOH, INV_STATUS_QTY and TRAN_DATA tables.
  5. Note that RMS does not create an entry for the item/loc/SOStatus msg qty in NV_STATUS_QTY table and does not insert a record for it in TRAN_DATA table with tran_code 25.
