Symptoms

When attempting to upgrade a database using dbsetup, the following error occurs:

ERROR

SQLServerException: Cannot open database "DATABASE NAME" requested by the login. The login failed.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open dbsetup.bat/sh or Validate.bat/sh
2. Enter database details > Click OK
