Symptoms
When sending an email with Convergence behind a load balancer, Convergence doesn't respect the http X-Forwarded-For header, which is injected by the load balancer.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Having Convergence configured to run behind a load balancer
- Create a message with convergence
- Send the message
- Check the message and notice that it shows the IP address of the load balancer.
Due to this issue, you cannot trace back client IP addresses.
