Oracle's standard integration/processing of fulfillment orders derives the source virtual warehouse to use based on the virtual store representing the website and the physical warehouse.
The standard inventory visibility view that provides inventory visibility to an OMS system provides the Availability quantity per virtual warehouse and channel ID. The Customer Order (CO) fulfillment request message sent to Retail Merchandising System (RMS) does not contain the channel ID, and it expects the physical warehouse to be passed; otherwise it fails. The application is not coherent in such an integration. On one hand we pass the stock on hand (SOH) at the virtual WH level, and on the other the Customer Order request needs to be at the physical WH level without the channel ID.
Users are not able to do inventory inquiries at virtual warehouse level by using InventoryDetailService. The following error is received:
Steps to Recreate:
- Call InventoryDetailService with a Virtual Warehouse ID.
- The above error is thrown.
