Goal

The goal of this document is to outline the steps necessary to setup the P6 domain to startup through Windows Services. The document also includes steps on how to remove the services and how to troubleshoot them.

Oracle strongly recommends automating the WebLogic startup through NodeManager scripting in replace of windows service creation, which is explained for P6 in the following article: Controlling the P6 EPPM WebLogic Domain Using Node Manager And WebLogic Scripting (Doc ID 1502593.1). This will allow the ability to remote control the domain and also simulates the same outcome for what a windows service does (ensuring automated startup with system reboots).  However, you can also configure the domain to startup through Windows Services using the instruction within this document, but this prohibits ease for future tuning because creation of windows services restricts the startup parameters, like memory parameters, in the registry, and will require a removal and recreation of the windows service if you wish to modify these types of parameters in the future.
