IMAP STATUS Command Returns Incorrect Folder Storage Quota Usage
Last updated on OCTOBER 18, 2017
Applies to:Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 2.0 and later
Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.4 to 7.0.4 [Release 7.0.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Consider an Oracle Communications Messaging Server setup running version 7u4-18.01(184.108.40.206.0) along with Convergence for webmail / IMAP access. The 'Storage use' for the specific folder shows the same value (for example, 2048.0MB), although the mboxutil output would show correct values.
1) Login to Convergence
2) While on the Mail tab, click on any folder and then view the Folder Properties.
Notice the used storage size looks the same for multiple folders.
When looking at the telemetry logs for the specific IMAP access, one would notice that when the STATUS request includes UNSEEN, then the SIZE value returned is unrealistic, but it looks to be fine when UNSEEN is not included in the status.
