Unable To Get Search Results For Special Characters When Lists Are set to Display Type=Search (Doc ID 1959859.1)

Symptoms


Cannot search speical characters, such as, [, \, |, {, or -

Unable to get search results for special characters

Steps to reproduce:

-----------------------

1. Login Java client as a user who has administrator previlige to Create a list that contains value names that start with [, \, |, {, –, #, *, ], }, and ~
2. Create a mulitList field that uses the new list and provide the appropriate read and modify privileges.
3. Login web client as an user
4. Try to typing in the mulitList field with any of the special characters #, *, ], },  ~ and
notice the matching values do not appear in a drop down.
Also try “Launch the Palette” and notice the matching values do not appear in the quick search results.
