Unifier: Opening files in Autovue - An error occurred while connection to the server

An error occurs when opening files in Document Manager. Default viewer selected is "Unifier Viewer"

 "Initialization failed. Exception when trying to execute channel requests. Nested exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect [....] An error occurred while connecting the server. Restart the applet?"

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. In Unifier choose "Unifier viewer" as the default viewer
2. Go in Document manager and open a file
3. Notice the error

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot open documents in Autovue viewer
