Error 'ORA-00060: Deadlock Detected' While Executing SAPURGE Batch

Actual Behavior


When Sales Audit Purge (SAPURGE.PC) batch runs with huge volume (say one million records), the job runs for six hours and fails with "ORA-00060: deadlock detected ... " error.

Expected Behavior


Expecting this batch should run in two minutes for this volume.

Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run SAPURGE.PC with huge records, say one million with Number of Days as parameter.
2. Notice that the batch takes about six hours and fails with ORA-00060 error.
