Why Does Infocenter "Contribute/Create/Manage Document" Edit Page Not Show the Required Categories and Usergroups Selections and force in put of required fields? (Doc ID 1968087.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When using contribute content from infocenter or iconnect, there is no typical IM console support for specifying usergroups, categories or views. Required usergroups and categories are also not supported. There are a couple bugs in that the required fields can be bypassed and the if the channel requires usergroups or categories the article can be published without these attributes being assigned. The contribute content capability should only be used when submitting public content. Outside of this the recommend content should be used for channels that require IM console usage to publish the article correctly.


When an IM  author tries to click/use the "Contribute/Create/Manage Document" button from Infocenter UI to create a new IM content, the Edit page does not show/provide the required Categories and Usergroups selection.
