Symptoms

In Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) Infrastructure, when you execute a Batch for a File to Table (F2T) load, the batch fails.  The following error exists in the SQL*Loader log file from /<ftpshare>/<infodom>/logs/<Data Source>/<MIS Date>:

Record 1: Rejected - Error on table DATA_TABLE_TEST, column DESCRIPTION1.
Field in data file exceeds maximum length
Record 2: Rejected - Error on table DATA_TABLE_TEST, column DESCRIPTION1.
Field in data file exceeds maximum length

The column listed in the error message has a definition of VARCHAR2(150).  The data being inserted to the column is less than 150 characters.

You do not understand why the error occurs when the data does not exceed the maximum length of the column.
