NCC 5.0.2 osdInterface Constantly Throws "ERROR: Could not bind to UNKNOWN at port 0: Unknown error (port W.X.Y.Z:7000 ignored)" (Doc ID 1980066.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 18, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 5.0.2 to 5.0.2 [Release 5.0]
Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller - Version 6.0.1 to 6.0.1 [Release 6.0]
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)

Symptoms

After patching Network Charging and Control (NCC) to version 5.0.2.0, osdInterface will start throwing the following errors with high frequency:

Jan 16 03:11:29 SLC01 osdInterface: [ID 675952 user.error] osdInterface(27712) ERROR: Could not bind to UNKNOWN at port 0: Unknown error (port W.X.Y.Z:7000 ignored)
Jan 16 03:11:29 SLC01 osdInterface: [ID 675952 user.error] osdInterface(27712) ERROR: Could not bind to UNKNOWN at port 0: Unknown error (portĀ W.X.Y.Z:7000 ignored)
Jan 16 03:11:30 SLC01 osdInterface: [ID 675952 user.error] osdInterface(27713) ERROR: Could not bind to UNKNOWN at port 0: Unknown error (port W.X.Y.Z:7001 ignored)

Although unsightly, functionally osdInterface itself does not behave any differently to pre-5.0.2.0 versions of osdInterface.

Changes

Installation or upgrade of NCC to 5.0.2.0.
