ORA-00907 error in SP_RULES when assigning Provisioning Plan (Doc ID 1982599.1)

Symptoms

MetaSolv Solution version 6.2.1

The MetaSolv Solution application throws an "Oracle ORA-00907 error in sp_rules" when attempting to assign a Provisioning Plan using GUI.

Steps

The issue can be reproduced at will using the steps below in the GUI:

1. Application Setup

2. Order Management Setup

3. Product Catalog

4. Right click on Product Catalog package icon and select Add Item

5. Configure a simple Non Premise Product having an Item Alias name that includes single quotes

Example: Oracle 'Non Premise Product'

6. Application Setup

7. Work Management Setup

8. Rules and Behaviors

9. Add New

10. Enter Rule Name and Rule Type = PSR Product Service Request

11. Click Save and Close

12. Click Edit in the Expression section

13. Click Add Condition

14. Enter the following data

     Condition: PRODUCT
     Operator: =
     Value: Oracle 'Non Premise Product'

*** NOTE: Do NOT enter parenthesis values in the fields surrounding the expression ***

15. Click Save and Close

16. Click Create in the Task Behaviors section

17. Configure the system to insert a task

     What do you want the task behavior to do? Insert Task
     What Task Type do you want to associate with the behavior? {Choose a Task}
     When do you want the action to occur? Task Generation
     By Work Queue: {Choose a Work Queue ID}

18. Click Next

19. Click Finish

20. Create a PSR order and add the newly created Product Catalog item; Oracle 'Non Premise Product'

21. Assign a Provisioning Plan to the order and the "ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis" error is thrown.
