Error: "Export failed. Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed." When Attempting to Export to Spreadsheet (XLS) From P6 Professional (Doc ID 1983046.1)

When attempting to export to Spreadsheet (XLS) format from within P6 Professional, the following error occurs after selecting "Finish" to initiate the export:

Export failed.
Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to P6 Professional
  2. Open any Project from the Project view
  3. Select File, Export
  4. Select 'Spreadsheet (XLS) and complete the remaining screens to choose what to export and a filename for exporting to.
  5. After completing all the required screens for exporting, select Finish to export to excel.
  6. Note the reported error which occurs.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, user cannot export to xls.
