Symptoms
Messaging Server fails to start when the service is automatically initiated by Solaris' SMF (Service Management Framework).
When it failed to start, the following message appeared in the default log:
The owner and group of "/tmp/.mailsrv_opt_sun_comms_messaging64/" was "root/root", where it was expected to match the Messaging Server run time user, typically be "mailsrv/mail".
Changes
In this specific case, packages were removed and patches were installed.
