Unable To Set Linux Kernel Parameters (Doc ID 1985791.1)

Symptoms

When Oracle Linux (OL) 5.7 is used, we are unable to set the Linux kernel parameters as per ASAP 7.2 Installation Guide.

When we  tried to set the kernel parameters (fs.file-nr = 8192 0 327679 and fs.mqueue.msg_max = 32767), we received the following exceptions respectively.

ERROR

1. error: permission denied on key 'fs.file-nr'

2. error: "Invalid argument" setting key "fs.mqueue.msg_max"
