Duplicate Promotions Imported from RPM Not Working As Expected by the Business Rule Set Up (Doc ID 1987932.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 22, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Point-of-Service - Version 14.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When Oracle Retail Price Management System (RPM) sends the same promotion details with different source and target lists in the 'PricingExtract.xml', the combination of source and targets does not trigger the discount rule in Oracle Retail Point of Service (ORPOS) .

For example:
Assume that RPM sends the pricing extract with a ChangeType=ADD and just the new SKUs as part of Source and Target list when there is a new item/loc added to the existing promotion.
For a BOGO type of promotion, there is a list of items as below.   Buy any 1 from List A below, get 50% off any item from List B:

   List A      List B

     7866         800
     7865         794
     7802          42
     1234          41
     4321
      994
      993

The combination below does not trigger the promotion:

   List A      List B

     7866          42

Steps to Reproduce:

Import 1:

In ORPOS,  add the following combination and the discount rule is not triggered though there are duplicate records of the same set of (ID="29" PromoCompID="29" PromoCompDetlID="29")

   List A      List B

     7866          42
